And so it begins...

Greetings from the SLU Ecological Sustainability Landscape!

You may be wondering just who is caring for the garden this summer and writing all of these blog posts  ...

Who are we? (The Interns)
Sheila Murray-- An outdoorsy vegetarian from the Granite State who is excited to get some great experience with GardenShare and hopes to harvest some delicious cucumbers this summer!

Sean Gannon-- From Connecticut, who likes growing food (especially hot peppers!), is eager to do non-profit work, and looks forward to a bountiful harvest from this huge ESL garden!

This blog is a first for both of us, so we're very exited to get started and share our daily/weekly projects and show just whats going on at the garden.

Here's the current list of tasks to tackle
On-going:
Mow, weed, water, "reclaim beds", redo paths, rake grass (compost!), blog posting!

Current:
Plant tomatoes and peas along panels, mix humus bags into raised beds, transplant plants, plant beet seeds, sunflowers, and borage corn

Miscellaneous:
Help GardenShare get out their donation letters, look into getting more cold frames and raised beds, research DIY greenhouses, connect with Campus Kitchens to begin harvest exchange with them.

Looks like we're in for quite a productive summer!

Happy Gardening,
Sheila & Sean
